Gemini opt in is rolling out to select devices and countries - opt in to Gemini from your Google Assistant or by downloading the Gemini app.

I use this app constantly. One of the things that I cannot stand is the fact that there seems to be no way to shut off the screen prompt for quick phrases without disabling the quick phrase. I love using "stop" and "snooze" for alarms and timers, I often use "answer" and "decline" for incoming phone calls. I don't love that the prompt completely covers up the caller's name. It should be possible to disable the onscreen prompt. Also, the email listed in the app store is disabled.

Do you want Google to track you and have your phone slow down in exchange for a voice assistant? Then use this. But I've used it about 3 times in the past year but I've gotten plenty of false positives (and a few false negatives as well) with the voice input. So I just disabled this app because it's more trouble than it's worth. Edit: It's now been replaced by a hallucinating AI version called Gemini. Considering the same company decided to force all devs to verify to publish their apps, 1 star.

Gemini is terrible. It offers numbers from out of state instead of searching my contacts for numbers I call daily. It asks me if I want to call that number I just requested. It fails to connect numbers. It eliminates the convenience and safety of hands free dialing. I often have to pull over to manually make the call. This is a real problem because I use my time in the truck to make calls to customers and vendors. Before the latest update, I had very little trouble, now it is a mess. Please fix.
